How to (re) Kickstart Your Daily Meditation Practice.

You decided you wanted to learn how to meditate. You know the benefits. You know you need it. You told yourself you would. Now, it’s been months since you actually meditated.

Here’s how to (re) Kickstart Your Daily Mediation Practice.

Step 1: Focus on your why.

Don’t be too hard on yourself. New habits take effort. Re-commit yourself on the specifics of why you want to start a daily meditation practice. Why is it important to you? What do you hope to gain from it?

Bonus points if you actually write down your answers.

Step 2: find an app.

Download 10% Happier App for fidgety skeptics.

There are lots of other options, but this is the one I like best.

Don’t like the idea of sitting quietly for 2-10 minutes? Check out other ways to meditate.

Step 3: create a daily notification.

From the app, go to settings (it’s a small icon that looks like a gear) and create a notification to meditate everyday at a certain time (maybe you choose what time it is right now!).

Step 4: find your course.

Select the course titled “BASICS” with Joseph Goldstein.

Step 5: meditate

Go do it right now. Go. Do. It. Now.

You’ll be so proud of yourself!

Step 6: keep at it.

Remember that mediation in exercise for your brain. There are good days and bad days, but each time you practice you get a little bit stronger.
